The 2010 Carl Tait Hi-Liner Fan of the Year as for 2010 was awarded to Dawn and Tom Ihry on February 5, 2010.
Dawn and Tom have lived in Hi-Liner territory since August of 2004 and it has been a quick adoption of love for Hi-Liner sports as well as other activities within the Valley City School system and community. Tom passed away on October 26th, 2009.
Tom truly loved seeing athletes compete and doing there best. Football was probably his first love and he enjoyed following the team at home or on the road. He often thanked parents of players following the game for the opportunity to watch their child participate. Tom appreciated hard work and effort on the part of the athlete.
Dawn pushes her own children as well as all participants to do there very best. She is not comfortable with a half-hearted effort and truly cheers for each athlete to reach his or her potential. Dawn knows there is more to the game than winning or losing and respects the effort made by the athletes.
The Ihry’s have three children, Ruth, Sam and Grace.
